Saltwater Fishing Reels

The spinning reel is the most common type of reel used by all anglers, they are very good and most of them have an excellent drag system on them. The price on spinning reels can be very cheap, or they can be very expensive, just like everything else is in this world. They typically hold light line, from about 6# to 20#, if you put anything greater than that, you will have problems casting and reeling the line in, unless the spinning reel is designed to hold greater pound test than that but they usually don't. If you need a fishing reel that will hold some strong line then look into the conventional reels, they look like baitcasters, and they can hold a great amount of fishing line on them. Mostly all of them have excellent drag systems too, you will for sure need it when you get a 200 pound marlin hooked.
